C. R. Nelson, President/CEO (cn_mmc@juno.com):

Prior to that, she was the Denver Marketing Representative for The Merchandising Group, New York, (TMG), exclusively handling the E.I. DuPont Denver account for the Fibers Division; and then a Denver sales agent for John Hancock Life Insurance Company.

She obtained her BBA from The Women’s College of the University of Denver, and maintains a current Colorado real estate Employing Broker’s license.   Additionally, she completed all course work for licensing as a Colorado real estate appraiser and has obtained her Certified Mortgage Lender (CML) designation.   Various other finance classes have been completed in continuing education throughout her career, including Exchange Marketing Specialist (EMS) designation and National Council of Exchangers.

Currently a member of National Association of Female Executives (NAFE) and Commercial Real Estate Women (CREW).  Also was listed in the 1994-95 Who’s Who Registry Executive Club.   She has served on the boards of Association of Professional Mortgage Women (APMW), Commercial Real Estate Women (CREW) and the commercial division of the early Colorado Mortgage Lenders in Denver.

Her passions are opera and travel.

Raeleen started her mortgage career at Megapolitan Mortgage Company, Denver in 1974 as assistant to the President.   Four short years later she was co-owner and Vice President of the Grand Junction Branch of Megapolitan Mortgage.  After successfully getting the Grand Junction branch up and running she returned to Denver to manage the commercial and residential production department of Megapolitan Mortgage.

Moving to Dallas in 1984, she was a partner in a custom home construction company. Deciding Texas wasn’t for her, Raeleen returned to Colorado in 2000 and joined Metropolitan shortly thereafter.

In addition to her corporate duties, she is responsible for commercial underwriting and loan origination.

Raeleen lives on her family’s homestead in eastern Colorado and she commutes to Denver.    Her passions include spending time with her her 2 sons and extended family and friends, painting and enjoying the outdoors.

Candace Benson, Sr. Vice President/COO, Closing Department / Loan Servicing:

Candace also started her mortgage career at Megapolitan Mortgage Company, Denver in 1981 as assistant to the Chairman of the Board.   Moving into the closing department a few months later, she learned the ins and outs of commercial closings and soon became Vice President of the Closing Department.   “The more complicated the closing the more fun you’ll have”, was her motto.

Leaving Megapolitan to move to Los Altos, California, Candace was a Branch Manager for a title insurance and escrow company.    The San Francisco earthquake made her realize she belonged back in Colorado.

Upon returning to Denver she decided to give robotic manufacturing sales a try and traveled extensively in Asia and Northern Europe for the company.   The end of the high tech manufacturing boom shuttered the company and Candace decided to return to the business she enjoyed the most, mortgage lending.

Candace graduated with a BSBA in Management and Economics from Regis College.

Her passion is her young daughter.
